Hello and welcome!
I am a children's book author/illustrator, graphic designer, book designer, and recipient of the 2024 Silver, 2023 Silver, and 2022 Silver awards in illustration and book design. I enjoy creating playful books that provide fun learning and exploration for the youngest readers. My novelty board books include I’m a Dolphin! (coming February 2027) with Workman Kids, 123 ZOOM and ABC ROAR (Little Simon), and Color Wonder: Hooray for Spring and Color Wonder: Winter is Here (Little Simon). I’m the creator of the Illusions in Art series (Candlewick Press), Quiet as a Mouse: And Other Animal Idioms (Union Square), Away We Go! (Scholastic), and Raindrops: A Shower of Colors (Sterling).
My story...
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam. At the fall of the Republic of Vietnam in 1975, my family and I were forced to leave our home and fled on the American Challenger, a ship that carried over 7,000 refugees. Our journey to America took over four months before we finally arrived in Northern Virginia, where I grew up.
I later acquired a BFA in Communications Art and Design from VCU School of Arts in Richmond, and began a career as a graphic designer. I now work from my studio in suburban Maryland. Thank you for your support!
