Hello and welcome!
I am a children's book author/illustrator, graphic designer, format designer, and recipient of the 2024 Silver, 2023 Silver, and 2022 Silver Awards in illustration and book design. I enjoy creating playful books that provide fun learning and exploration for the youngest readers. My latest titles are board book series Illusions in Art (Candlewick Press, 2023) and novelties 123 Zoom and ABC Roar (Little Simon/S&S, 2022). My books include Color Wonder Hooray for Spring!, Color Wonder Winter is Here!, Quiet as a Mouse: And Other Animal Idioms, and Away We Go! I am the author of Raindrops: A Shower of Colors.
My story...
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam. At the fall of the Republic of Vietnam in 1975, my family and I were forced to leave our home, and fled on the American Challenger, a ship that carried over 7,000 refugees. Our journey to America took over four months before we finally arrived in Northern Virginia, where I grew up.
I later acquired a BFA in Communications Art and Design from VCU School of Arts in Richmond, and began a career as a graphic designer. I now work from my studio in suburban Maryland. Many thanks for your support!
